Our Travel Gnome

Meet Felgar. He is our official travel gnome. He mysteriously appeared in our backyard during a BBQ with friends. Hmmmm… I suspect Justin Felgar (hence the name and because Felgar suits him so well). Our friend Justin (beau of my best friend Shan) will be away for the next 9 months or so with the Navy, so we've decided to bring Felgar the Gnome along on all our adventures. We'll send the real Felgar pictures of his gnome friend so he won't miss a thing. Any who -- this is him. He's going to be traveling to Israel in 2 weeks! Yipppeeee!

T.P. Surprise

Hmmm...someone got us good while we were on our surf trip. Thank you to the mysterious T.P.-ers who hid Bud Light Limes all over our yard! You are too nice. Feel free to toilet paper us again and bring Michelob Ciders.

A Quadruple Date Night

Last Saturday we had a quadruple date night! A bunch of us got together at our house and everyone brought something to share -- Dan and I did all the veggies and Brazilian Lemonade, Evan and Monica brought some awesome fish from Evans last voyage, Dany and Ev brought an amazing apple pie and Shanny and Justin brought a tasty salad. It's so much fun having last minute get-togethers, especially when everyone chips in. After dinner we played some glow-in-the-dark bocci ball and then drove up to the Long Beach Laugh Factory. The ticket seller noticed that Justin was a Navy Pilot, so they bumped our group up to the front row...where the comedians proceeded to rag on us all night. Awww the perks of having a military I.D. Baaahaha. It was a hilarious, amazing evening.

Mug Exchange Party

Have you ever been to a Mug Exchange Party? What a genius idea, right?  Our friend Marissa invited us to one last week and it was hilarious! Instead of bringing the traditional "white elephant gift", everyone brings a wrapped mug. You can bring the ugliest mug, the funniest mug, or one that you know everyone will fight over. You can pick from the unopened pile or steal someones that you like up to 3 times. Things get heated when you want that mug! And after the exchange ended we filled them with hot cocoa, cider and boozy concoctions.
Too much fun.

Jalama Vacation

I'm so excited for our 3 day weekend surf trip! We packed up the Winnebago and left for Jalama Beach at 4:30AM (why do guys like to leave so early?). That means 3 whole days without wedding talk! Yippee! I never thought I would say that. haha -- it's nice to take a break once in a while.
See you Monday my dears.

$5,000 Nail Polish! Say Whaaa?

This is hilarious... who has $5,000 to throw down on a bottle of nail polish?
Cracks me up.

Art: Melting Bubble Fish Tank

This Bubble Tank by Richard Bell, Thomas McKeown and David Powell of Psalt Design is made to look as if the aquarium is dripping off the edge of a counter top. An alternative name could be the Anxiety Tank. Bwah haha.
I don't think I could handle this...

Hilarious: Trader Joe's Song

I love TJ's! Danny and I get our groceries here every other week! I am obsessed with their Castello Cheese, Sweet Potato Gnocchi and Vanilla Cream Yogurt.

This is too funny. A man named Carl wrote a song about Trader Joe's, it's hil-ar-i-ous!

Old Wives Tale Tells All: Boy or Girl Pregnancy Predictor

This picture makes me crack up! Last week a bunch of us ladies got together for a Christmas tea party. My good friend Lyssa is expecting her first baby next summer and we thought it would be fun to google an old wives tale to predict whether she was having a baby boy or girl. We tried the test with more than one holder and the results were the same each time! A boy! And guess what...three days later when she got her ultrasound our prediction was true!

Congrats to Lyssa and Chase on their baby boy!

Here's how to do the test -- just for fun:
The ring test is a very common baby gender predictor. Hang your wedding band on a string of your hair, or on a string. Have someone stand over you and hold the ring directly over your belly. If the ring moves in a circle you are having a girl and if the ring sways back and forth you are having a boy.

Elf On A Shelf

My nanny family has a cute Christmas tradition...Elf on a Shelf.
I like to find new ideas for the elf to do each night! These are some fun ideas that I want to do when I have kiddies of my own.

A Note From The North Pole:
Have you ever wondered how Santa knows who is naughty and who is nice? Elf on a Shelf -- A very special Elf that helps Santa know who to put on the Naughty and Nice list.
Excellent listeners and even better observers, these scout elves are the eyes and ears of Santa Claus. Although they cannot be touched, or else they may lose their magic, the elf will always listen and relay messages back to Santa. Taking in all the day-to-day activities around the house, no good deed goes unnoticed; these scout elves take their job seriously.
Each night, after the family goes to bed, the scout elf uses its magical Christmas powers to fly back to the North Pole. Once there, the elf will make his or her daily report to Santa.
Before the family awakes each morning, their special scout elf will fly back to their home from the North Pole. However, since these elves like to play games, don’t expect to find them in the same spot!
