A Grown-up Girls Only Party

So Shannon and I were talking the other day... it's funny how you reach that point in life when sleepovers at your friends house become a thing of the past. We grow-up, get married and have babies -- quick lunch dates over foo foo salads take the place of that quality girl time we had when we were younger. So we decided to have a girls night with all the works: face masks, nail polish, chocolate and an endless array of junk food all centered around a big air mattress, pillows and blankets. Everyone brought a treat or drink to share. We lounged around in our jammies, laughed at our high school pictures and caught each other up on life. It was a blast -- A well needed reminder of the good old days.

Here is the picture we used for our invite. Haha. Love it.

My Bachelorette Party

Here are some pictures from my bachelorhette party in August.  My lovely bridesmaids and a few friends took me on a weekend getway to Palm Springs! We had an awesome time laying out by the pool, having dinner at PF Chang's and spending some quality girl time together. It's just what I needed before the the wedding week rush!

Too funny.

 The Palm Springs JW Marriot.
Ooh so fancy.
Thanks girls!

 Bahaha. Christina ^

 Lounging and loving life.
We got the great idea to see how many of us we could squeeze into our bath-tub.
 Answer=5

It looks like I have a bubble goatee.^
Some good, clean fun.

Getting our dance on with about 50 other Brides.^

And on the way home we got to visit an old friend. My parents would always stop off at the T-Rex on our way through Cabazon when we were kids. We'd get to go into the belly of the Long Neck Dino shop and walk across the street for a date milkshake before setting off on the road again.

Fun times. Thank you to all my girls for an unforgettable weekend. You guys are the best.

A Quadruple Date Night

Last Saturday we had a quadruple date night! A bunch of us got together at our house and everyone brought something to share -- Dan and I did all the veggies and Brazilian Lemonade, Evan and Monica brought some awesome fish from Evans last voyage, Dany and Ev brought an amazing apple pie and Shanny and Justin brought a tasty salad. It's so much fun having last minute get-togethers, especially when everyone chips in. After dinner we played some glow-in-the-dark bocci ball and then drove up to the Long Beach Laugh Factory. The ticket seller noticed that Justin was a Navy Pilot, so they bumped our group up to the front row...where the comedians proceeded to rag on us all night. Awww the perks of having a military I.D. Baaahaha. It was a hilarious, amazing evening.

My Bridal Showers

Here are some pictures from my bridal showers last summer. Not one, not two but three showers! I am one lucky lady. The first one was an afternoon lunch with my friends -- filled with funny games, beautiful handmade decorations and presents that would make you blush. I am so blessed to have such amazing gals in my life. Second was a neighborhood brunch with all the ladies from the hood, thrown by the lovely Susan and Tina. The fresh flowers were donated from gardens around the neighborhood and arraigned by the ladies and the famous Ernesto: King of Decor and Flowers. I have the best neighbors in the world. And the third shower was a wonderful family get-together hosted by my Aunt D with all of my Aunties, Mommala and cousins. I love you all so much. Thanks for all the love and support.

Dreaming of Summer Parties

I can't wait for summer to come! We recently had a really hot week here in California and it brought back memories of summer. Here are some pictures of a June party we threw for Danny's birthday a few years ago. We had it on the empty lot we bought (which is any day now being approve for construction yay). I just love getting together with friends, grilling burgers, eating cupcakes and drinking some cold lemonade. I can't wait to have one of these parties in our new backyard at the La Perle house -- a nice BBQ under our cafe lights and bare feet on our new grass! Dear summer please get here soon.

Our Wedding Invitations

Hey guys! As you probably know, Daniel and I got married last August. We just received our wedding pictures about 2 months ago and I've been trying to organize them so I can begin posting about all the festivities...bridal showers, the bachelorette party, the wedding and some honeymoon pictures too. I thought this would be a good place to start -- the invitations.

My wonderful friend Christina Pecora (and also bridesmaid) designed and made them herself! What a gal! We were so thrilled with the way they turned out.
Thank you Christina!

Mug Exchange Party

Have you ever been to a Mug Exchange Party? What a genius idea, right?  Our friend Marissa invited us to one last week and it was hilarious! Instead of bringing the traditional "white elephant gift", everyone brings a wrapped mug. You can bring the ugliest mug, the funniest mug, or one that you know everyone will fight over. You can pick from the unopened pile or steal someones that you like up to 3 times. Things get heated when you want that mug! And after the exchange ended we filled them with hot cocoa, cider and boozy concoctions.
Too much fun.
