A Day At The Farmers Market

We found a great farmers market at Soco! They are open every Saturday from 9:00-2:00. They have  lots of fresh local produce, a bunch of fun food trucks and homemade ice cream carts. You can also mosey on over to the mix shops inside. I tried a cara cara orange for the first time. They have "a flavor that evokes notes of cherry, rose petal, orange, and blackberry."- so says wikipedia. It was quite yummy.

Catalina Island

Evan, Dany, Daniel and I are going to Catalina Island for the weekend! Yay mini vacation!

In the 1930s, Catalina Island was a favored getaway destination for Hollywood stars such as Clark Gable and Charlie Chaplin. The island also served as a filming location for dozens of movies

Catalina back in the day...

I'll tell you all about it when we get home.
Have a great weekend my friends!

Kogi

Our friend Peter had the fabulous idea of getting dinner at the Kogi truck last night!
The Kogi truck is a traveling Los Angeles landmark that serves up Korean / Mexican inspired food such as their Spicy Pork Tacos, Kimchi Quesadillas and Short Rib Sliders. Quality Korean barbecue meets traditional, homemade tortillas and fresh veggies to create a taste that carries the rhythms of LA street culture.
Most recently the Kogi family has opened up its first sit-down restaurant, Chego, in Palms.
Kogi is so delicious and the price is extremely reasonable! Big fan!
We got a spicy pork taco, short rib burrito, blackjack quesadilla  and a Chocolate tres leches cake for dessert.  YUM!!!! It was all good!
We then walked over to the park and caught the tail-end of Monsters Inc. on a big outdoor screen. It was a fun night! Thanks for the great idea Peter!

Gypsy Den

Shanny, Dan and I had a fun Saturday night. Shannon seriously kicked my booty during our run in the Back Bay (she has volunteered herself to be my bridal boot camp Sergeant). After we got back home we decided to get a creme brulee from the Gypsy Den (smart right...running and creme brulee). While we were there, we noticed a new shop across the way. Shanny and I snagged 2 cute dresses and sipped complimentary mimosas while Danny read a magazine at the lounge near by.

Life is good...
running, creme brulee, mimosas and a new dress.

The dress I got looks very similar to this one by nightcap.
Fun Day!
