OR/CA Road Trip: Day 8

Today was our last morning with Christian and Jenna. They invited us to go rafting with their family, but Daniel and I had to get-a-move-on (we had plans to be in Sonoma this evening and San Francisco tomorrow). We took baby Aiden and Nanny to the Rouge Creamery for cheese tasting and to Lillie Belle Farms for handmade chocolates before we set-off to Sonoma.

Danny and I got some Oregon Blue (blue cheese) and a brown sugar spice marbled cheddar with a hunk of Salami.

Katie and Austin lent us baby Aiden for the morning.

After the Creamery, we walked next door to Lillie Belle's for chocolates!

Lavender sea salt caramels. Soooo good. I'd say they were my favorite out of the whole shop!

Danny and Christian's Nanny Patty. She is such a wonderful woman!

 I got a Strawberry Passion Cup, a Blue Cheese Truffle, Frangelico Cup and an Absinthe Ganache.

After we said our goodbyes, Danny and I picked blackberries for the car ride to Sonoma!

We had a fun day! Tomorrow we'll be driving into San Francisco! Yay!

OR/CA Road Trip: Day 7

Daniel went for a 6:00AM hike with Christian, Jan & Joe (Christian's in-laws) and Mike (Christian's father). They watched the sunrise over Medford.

I was a lazy butt and slept-in with the rest of the Yule kids.

I gave Danny my camera so he could take some pictures of the hike. What a view!

After the boys got back, Daniel and I spent the day with Christian's family. We drove to Crater Lake! It was a beautiful day!

If you look closely  you can see a very small Danny on the left side.

Natural Bridges -- just outside of Crater Lake. The river rushes through lava tubes that form a bridge.

We had a picnic lunch overlooking the lake.

That night we went back to Jenn and Christian's for dinner. Mike, Katie and Nanny (Patty) made some WONDERFUL chicken enchiladas.

And I got to spend some time with lovely Olivia.

Dan and I had a wonderful time visiting with Christian and Jenn and their families. Congrats on lovely little Olivia and our prayers will be with the both of you. We'll see you at Christmas!!!! Please post millions of pictures of Olivia until then! We love you guys! Good luck in the Army Christian! We are so proud of you!

DIY: Sugar Body Scrubs! Brown Sugar & Honey, Peppermint and Sugar Cookie

Recipes for sugar body scrubs:  Brown Sugar & Honey, Peppermint and Sugar Cookie!

Peppermint Scrub:

Mix together 1 cup sugar, 1/3 cup mineral oil, 2 T. corn syrup, 1/2 t. peppermint extract and a drop of green food coloring.

Brown Sugar and Honey Scrub:

Mix together 1 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup mineral oil and 2 T. honey.

Sugar Cookie Scrub:

Mix together 1 cup raw sugar, 1/3 cup mineral oil, 2 T. corn syrup and 1 t. vanilla.
