Jalama Trip

Here are some pictures from our trip to Jalama Beach. It was a fun weekend. We were glad to get away for just a few short days; to take a break from work and wedding planning. It's nice to clear your head once in awhile. Funny thing though... we hit a huge rain storm and 40mph winds! We spent most of the time inside the Winnebago with our friends, but any time spent with friends is time well spent! The weather wasn't on our side, but the waves sure were!
Dany T. and I did some water painting
Here is a picture of our camp, during a spot of sunshine...the poles we used to hold up the awning were bent in half by morning time (the wind was that STRONG). How exciting!

Dany T. (one of my lovely bridesmaids) and I were the only ladies on the trip. Making dinner for a bunch of hungry guys is quite a task. They've got it too good.

St. Germain

In my opinion, it's THE BEST liqueur in the world!

"Neither passionfruit nor pear, grapefruit nor lemon, the sublime taste of
St-Germain hints at each of these and yet none of them exactly. It is a flavor
as subtle and delicate as it is captivating. A little like asking a hummingbird
to describe the flavor of its favorite nectar. Très curieux indeed, n'est-ce pas?"

The Story of St. Germain

IN THE foothills of the Alps, for but a few fleeting spring weeks, this man will gather wild blossoms for your cocktail.
The blossoms in question are elderflowers, and the cocktail a stylishly simple creation made with St-Germain, the first liqueur in the world created in the artisanal French manner from freshly handpicked elderflower blossoms. Our story, however, does not end there.

AFTER gently ushering the wild blossoms into sacks and descending the hillside, the man who gathers blossoms for your cocktail will then mount a bicycle and carefully ride the umbels of starry white flowers to market. Vraiment.
There are no more than 40 or 50 men such as he, and in a matter of weeks they will have gathered what will become St-Germain for that year.
AND WHAT OF THE TASTE of St-Germain?
It has been said that Paris is a mélange curieux, a curious mixture of flavors, styles and influences.
So it is with St-Germain.

Wild Sweet Orange Tea

I had a cup of Tazo Wild Sweet Orange herbal tea the other day...I am hooked! Oh, it is beyond good. I don't know what it is, but I feel so clean after drinking it.

Here's how Tazo describes it:
Imagine the invigorating bite of a succulent orange in a Marrakesh market, and you get a sense of the taste of Tazo Wild Sweet Orange: Multilayers orange flavors with exotic hints of spice and a distinctive, floral finish. It's a blend of blackberry leaves, lemongrass, spearmint, orange peels and ginger that is quite wild indeed.

Amazing Places

I've been dealing with a serious case of the travel bug... not the sick kind, but the I NEED TO TRAVEL kind. Do you ever have those days that you wish you could drop everything, grab your love and take off? When I was a kid, I use to spin our world globe around and close my eyes. I'd place my finger on the spinning globe and move it up and down until it stopped on a random place. "Ahhh-haa this looks like a good place to go next."
Where would you go if you could go anywhere in the world?
For a day?
For a month?
For a year?

These look like some fabulous places...

St. Petersburg, Russia

Istanbul, Turkey

Greece

Gourette, Pyrenees

The Wave -- Near the Coyotes Buttes in Arizona, USA

Milan, Italy

Scotland

Portal view from Hotel Punta Regina, Positano, Italy

Blue Lagoon, Luzon, The Philippines
