Big Belly Deli

Danny and I went to Big Belly Deli the other day. Oh my goooooosh..this sandwich was so good. We split a Newport Cheesesteak with mushrooms, red onion, bell peppers
and roast beef with melted American cheese. Awwwwww yum. It was my first time eating here and I loved it. I give it one billion stars.

Mint Julep Recipe

Are you hosting a Kentucky Derby Party on May 5th? If you are or if you aren't Mint Juleps are a classy drink that can be served at any spring or summer party.

Start with the simple syrup the day before:
Boil 2 cups of sugar in 2 cups of water for 5 minutes. Place the mixture in an airtight container with 6 to 8 sprigs of mint; refrigerate overnight.

On the day of your party, fill a cup (silver julep if you have one or a glass if you don't) with crushed ice, then add 2 tablespoons of mint syrup and 4 tablespoons of whiskey. Stir well and garnish with mint. Enjoy -- preferably while sporting a fancy wide-brimmed hat.

BCD Tofu House

I went to BCD Tofu House with my friend Christine last week -- super fun and yummy authentic Korean food. Here's a little about BCD's story and some pictures of our dinner.

Inspired by a passion for spreading Korea's wonderful cuisine around the globe, BCD continues to focus on taste, health benefits, quality food  and so much more.
The BCD story starts with Hee Sook Lee, a first-generation Korean immigrant who loves to create in the kitchen and to share her cooking with family. Her mother in-law owned a restaurant in "Buk-Chang-Dong" (the city in Korea after which the restaurant is named), where Hee Sook Lee gained early training in the food industry. After immigrating to the United States, Mrs. Lee chose to focus on tofu soup due to its superb taste and beneficial health properties. She had a vision for success in America, and is building her restaurant enterprise one bowl at a time!

A Baby Shower For Lyssa

My friend Lyssa (also one of my beautiful bridesmaids this August) is expecting her first child with her husband Chase next month! Here are some fun pictures of the baby shower we threw her last week. The girls and I decided to do a tea party theme with scones and devonshire cream, jam, cookies, brownies, sandwiches, salads and strawberries with whipped cream etc. Shanny brought her mothers tea cup collection and Lyssa's sister brought a bunch of great stuff, including honey crystals for our tea. It was a cute get together.

We are all so excited for Lyssa and Chase! Praying for a save delivery and a healthy wee one. Three more weeks Lyssa! You are going to be fabulous parents! What a lucky kid.
